I Held Their Hands So They Wouldn’t Worry What These Hands Can Do, Chapter 31, Verse 6
An American has to be pretty sad and desperate to hang from the landing gear. But when that cargo plane pulled up and that door opened, the general said, “Sir, when that door opens and you had the most beautiful young people carrying a coffin or a number of coffins off of the plane. Sir, when that happens, you’ll see, the parents are not okay.” These generals. What are you gonna argue with these generals?
So I was talking to people that seemed to be fine. I was amazed at their strength, their patriotism, their love of all we’ve been doing to make this country so great it will never not be not great again. And 10 minutes later, I watched that same mother and that same father screaming, screaming, running to the coffin, like crazy people, as it was being taken off, breaking security lines, you couldn’t stop them. They’re lucky they didn’t get shot.
I’ve never seen anything like it. And for what? And for what? For 21 years of bad decisions with this Middle East Peace thing that even Jared couldn’t figure out, and Jared figures everything out. Ivanka is good, but Jared — I hate to say this. I mean Ivanka is my favorite person in the world, but Jared is sharp and tacky as they get, and even he couldn’t figure out how to make those people behave.
So the parents are screaming and the police don’t know whether to shoot or use their clubs, batons, I think they call them batons, sounds nicer, and here we have this unbelievable disaster.
And then you have that old man who just retreats and gives up and it’s a disgrace. It’s a disgrace to our country. It’s a disgrace. It’s a disgrace to everybody.
