The 60s sucked for many people who lived through them. There was loss, division, anger, violence, assassination, & government sanctioned police or military murder in the streets.
Black leaders were targetted & killed, imprisoned, or forced to go into exile.
Antiwar protestors were attacked & beaten by pro-war assholes.
That was American then.
Today?
Same as it ever was, except now we may catch a break with the Delta variant wiping out or permanently disabling tens of thousands of proudly ignorant fucks & fuckettes. We should know in the next couple of weeks whether the rate of vaccination rates in the shithead states goes up rapidly or whether the big job opportunities will be in corpse disposal.
